The primary goals of the Information Technology curriculum are to:

Part A: Employability Skills

This section focuses on essential skills that enhance students’ employability prospects:​

  1. Communication Skills-II: Developing effective verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.​
  2. Self-Management Skills-II: Strategies for personal development, time management, and stress management.​
  3. Information and Communication Technology Skills-II: Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms responsibly.​

 Part B: Subject-Specific Skills

  2. Electronic Spreadsheet (Advanced): Data analysis, using scenarios, goal seek, and macros in LibreOffice Calc.
  3. Database Management System: Designing, creating, and managing databases using LibreOffice Base.
  4. Maintain Healthy, Safe and Secure Working Environment: Understanding workplace safety, health protocols, and emergency response planning.​

Part C: Practical Work

Practical sessions are designed to reinforce theoretical knowledge through hands-on experience:​

  • Practical Examination: Assessing proficiency in digital documentation, spreadsheets, and database management.​
  • Viva Voce: Oral examination to evaluate understanding and application of concepts.​

Part D: Project Work/Field Visit/Portfolio

  • Project Work/Field Visit: Engaging in real-world case studies and summarizing data reports using LibreOffice Base.​
  • Portfolio/Practical File: Compiling printouts of practical exercises performed using Writer, Calc, and Base, with a minimum of five problems each.​

Scheme of Units:

  • Part B: Subject-Specific Skills: 150 hours

The assessment is conducted out of 100 marks, with theory and practical components distributed accordingly.​
